Tens of video works made by local and international artists were displayed at the Bandung International Digital Art Festival (BIDAF) which was held from November 6 to 8 at Landmark Braga building, Bandung. In addition to video, the event also held a tribute to Indonesian renowned musician Harry Roesli on Saturday, November 8.
International artists who took part in the exhibition include Bill Viola from the Unites States, Tundra from Russia, and Rangsit University from Thailand.
The most-attractive video was a work by students of Rangsit University, Thailand. The video is entitled ‘Big Poo’ and depicts a story of an animation character having toilet head. The video tried to send a message that even though the toilet head has disgusting appearance, it can produce useful fertilizer in the end of the day.
BIDAF Director, Franki Raden said that the festival is aimed to promote Bandung among digital art networks. The event that was held in collaboration with West Java Tourism Agency also tried to attract audiences from various of backgrounds and ages by holding the event at the popular building instead of visual art building.
